Microsoft Dynamics AX is a comprehensive business management solution for mid-sized and divisions of larger organizations that works like and with familiar Microsoft software to help your people improve productivity.

Microsoft Dynamics AX is built to make it easier to do business across locations and countries by consolidating and standardizing processes, providing visibility across your organization, and simplifying compliance. With Microsoft Dynamics AX, you can be confident your business management solution is, and will continue to be, relevant to the needs of your people and the demands of your industry and business.

This statement of direction will give you insight into our product strategy and roadmap. The objectives of this doucment are to:

* Help prospective buyers ‘buy’ our solution by giving insight into our strategy and future releases
* Help prospective partners build a business case for why they should sell our solution or build on top of our platform
* Help our existing partners and customers plan near and long-term initiatives. For example, help customers plan the roll-out of Microsoft Dynamics AX across their organization and into multiple markets (geos) or business units.

The document comprises of four main sections:

* Future direction of the product
* What is our current offering (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1)
* What is Microsoft Dynamics AX ‘6’
* Customer Support and Maintenance Policies

The SOD will contain information about our development plans through the year 2011.
